LipoQ™ uses the sulfo-phospho-vanillin method to measure the lipid content of samples. Unsaturated fatty acids in a sample react with concentrated sulphuric acid, which in combination with phospho-vanillin forms a pink-coloured solution. The intensity of the pink colour formed is determined by the total lipid concentration in the sample and provides a reliable result. Each kit contains sufficient reagents for 100 tests, including controls.
