SeraCon Matribase is a biological matrix made from human blood components designed to have lower than normal values for hormones and total lipids, resulting in a cleaner background signal and increased clarity. These features make the biological matrix easier to process. SeraCon Matribase is produced without the use of delipidating agents or activated charcoal. It is designed for use as a diluent or base matrix. For example, it is possible to dilute the Seraseq NIPT reference materials with SeraCon Matribase in order to insert the reference material into the workflow in a manner consistent with plasma fractions prior to extraction.
